Thursday, Melissa had just a morning session, so when she got back we took the car back to Enterprise and headed for the Thruway. We’d have about a 90 mile run today, across the state to Buffalo and our KOA campground on Grand Island near the Falls. We said so-long to our neighbors with the Big Ass Truck, and hopped on the road. Interstate 90 is the New York State Thruway, and it was fairly well maintained. Nothing spectacular, but there was one spot where we cut through some old rock and I wondered how many old dinosaur bones we scrunched under foot. Scenery was mild, and we got to Buffalo by mid-afternoon, skirting around the city proper and heading to an island out in the river.
There is a big, blue bridge over to Grand Island, where our campground was. It didn’t take long to find, and we were escorted by one of the camp hosts. We got set up, had some dinner, Kamryn checked out the fish pond, and then we wandered around to watch the sunset.
Tomorrow, we’d head to the Falls. I signed us up for a guided bus tour, since it was not in the cards to drive the RV around the Falls area. Kamryn met a little girl here with her grandparents too, she was from Kansas, if I remember.
