Saturday, we got up, Kammy palled around with her new friend from Kansas, and I checked out the rental car and fireworks situation. We had a big brochure that gushed over how spectacular the light show and fireworks were over the falls.  Then I looked at it closer. Down near the bottoms. “Fireworks and Light Show Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday Night All Summer Long”.  Yeah – they didn’t do the fireworks and light show over the summer Saturdays.  So that put a crimp into our Saturday plans. We ended up just sitting around all day. The weather was rather grey and overcast anyway. Kammy had fun.

On Sunday, we packed up, said goodbye to the friends, and motored about 50 yards down the road to a big waterpark that we’d promised Kamryn. We spent a good chunk of the day there, and then headed south-southwest, along the shoreline of Lake Erie, made a hard left at Erie PA, and traveled through the northeast corner of Pennsylvania, arriving at our last campground reservation at Grove City.

The freeway out of Buffalo and down along Lake Erie was interesting as we got out of town.

The NYS Thruway skirted the lake shore, and within an hour or two, we re-entered Pennsylvania. I’d never been in this opposite corner of PA, here near Erie.  We came upon the PA welcome center and pulled in for a few moment’s respite. In a little bit, we’d head south below Erie. Our evening destination was Grove City, north of Pittsburgh.

After leaving the Welcome Center, we drove through the north woods of PA, a nice, sunny summer afternoon as the sun was setting to the west. Soon enough, we came to the exit for our KOA, and motored on down the little country road to the campground.
