2013-03 Baltimore with Hal

March 1, 2013

Hal needed to visit the Veteran’s Hospital down in Baltimore, to have his carpal tunnel wrist issues evaluated. I went down with him to wander the city while he was subjected to the US Military’s version of cruel and unusual punishment.

Our trip down south was the usual venture along I-95, and it being early March, everything was still brown. We got near the city, and took a quick right after the tunnels to head into downtown.

The VA hospital is attached to to the University of Maryland, so I let Hal out, and wandered down the street towards the Inner Harbor area. As the sun poked through the rather ominous clouds, the patterns on some of the buildings were quite interesting.

The Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! Museum is on the Harbor..

I walked south towards Federal Hill Park

After the Park, a quick buzz through the Science Museum and their Vegetable Man display…

And then over to the USS Constellation old-timey ironsides, and other stuff.

And then the Top Of The World observation desk at the Baltimore Trade Center

Back to the other side of the harbor to see the submarine USS Torsk, and a Coast Guard Cutter.

And finally back up into town for Hal.  It turns out his Doctor was not in residence, Hal kept getting bounced around the place like a rotund ping-pong ball, and never did see anyone for his pain and suffering. Four hours in hell. Needless to say, the ride home was tense.
