Why I started this forum
« on: December 06, 2011, 07:48:20 AM »

I'm a member on several other photo forums. I've tried to contribute in my little way where I could. Many of my contacts on these boards have privately suggested to me that I should "write a book", or "make a video", or, more commonly, "Soak my head".. I've generally resisted these blandishments to drive my career further into obscurity. But I got so frustrated at some of the shortcomings of the other boards, and tired of the constant ads, pop-up, push-down, or otherwise, that I decided to start my own forum and invite a few thousand of my closest online friends to join.

There will be no ads or other commercial interruptions on the board. It really doesn't cost me anything to run it other than time, so I hope it will be chock-full of nuts, no, I'm sorry, that's the coffee, isn't it...

Chock-full-o'-Info.  Sharing of Knowledge.  Posting of Pictures.   Et of Cetera.

Picture posting will have very few restrictions, especially size wise. No 600 x 800 limit here.

I've tried to set up categories and sub-boards to meet the kinds of requests I've seen on other boards.

I will try to respond to user requests for additional areas, or modifications.

I want this board to be USER-Driven in terms of content and form.

The only thing I don't want is inactivity. Ennui. Lethargy.  Somnolence.

There are a lot of nice features to this forum software - topic sorting, ignore lists, buddy lists, it's quite flexible. I may need to put a quick FAQ together as I learn all the ins and outs as well.
